Looks like chunks of dirt in the bottom. This should have been drank already but worth a try! Thanks Aaron!

10-17. 14 is when it starts to change character. Only bad one was 12. 10 a little oxidized but otherwise smooth. Great beer!

Again, a shadow of its former self. Corpse.

Apparently the fourth of a 4-pack from 2013. Quiet sweet/malty but the dark fruit has remained. Pleasant alcohol presents.

Might be past it's prime... not sure. Kinda watery. Profile mostly nails it. Boozy with a malty sweetness. Can't really tell that this is a scothish ale, IMO. No rating as not sure how this is supposed to taste. Thanks for sharing this one Brandon S.!

No back label, and date on neck is rubbed off. Think this is a '13. Not a big fan of aged Bastard. Everything's muted in this one. Barrel is most noticable followed by some vinous and cola flavors. Fun science experiment.

Slightly better than the 2012. Not as smoky. Still zero card.

It's mellowed for sure but flavor is taking a nosedive. Oxidized. I'm sure It has to do with improper storage of the beer with my travels. Glad I drank it tonight.

So we’re gonna do a Backwoods Bastard vertical today for the super bowl. Let’s see how we do

Staggered vertical 2013-15-17. Past its prime. Dead flat, lost some of the nicer flavor characteristics, a little slick, but overall not horrible. 4-6yrs seems to be the max aging window on most year variants of this. Last pick for the evening

Little flat, still some decent notes, vanilla, caramel, bourbon

A beer from a different time, but really it's held on so strong and holds up to newer bangers

Drinking through some collared stuff I should have got to years ago. Still super good though, just haven't drank these styles in a while!

Thanks Alan H. and Shari L. ! 8 years has actually muted the flavors of this. Very smooth though

Last bottle in the cellar and held up nicely. Charred oak, burnt caramel, raisins, hint of smoke and leather and pumpernickel bread crust.

So perfectly aged. Mellow and drinkable. Great easy going finale for Day 10 of Ten Days of Cellar Beers.

super smoothed out. 7 years and tastes barely anything like fresh

Smoky nose. Chewy. Boozy oak. And whiskey. Nice sipper

This is probably my last one still amazingly tasty! Great body good complexity as it warms getting no oxidation on this wonderful finish!

What a beauty after all these years. Found this bottle sitting there alone in the cellar and it so mellow and balanced.
