Nice blend of spices. Cinnamon clove and ginger mix well with the barley wine barrel aging. You get some booziness but not overpowering.

“Maybe Christmas,” he thought, “doesn’t come from a store? Nah forget that - have a beer. Maybe four.”

Not bad. Spicy, oak, dark fruit, malty, light notes of honey.

Very spicy. If they toned it down, this would be much better.

Disappointing mess. Overly sweet and finishes far too bitter. Super thin bodied too. I miss when Founders made good beer.

Too much ginger for me right now… these will definitely need to mellow

I would eat gingerbread year around; so, I’m not counting this as a too soon Christmas beer 😄

You can taste the spices, the bourbon and some burn. Its a sipper only 1 per night. Might be better if it was an ale. You should try one.... call Uber 4 ride home

Strong cloves, ginger, and malt. Good, but very boozy and tastes it, to its detriment unfortunately.

Wasn't sure what to expect of this, but I must say it is really nice! Lighter than I expected and none of the flavors are overwhelming. Cinnamon and nutmeg up front with notes of oak and vanilla on the back. Very good!

I seem to be the 6th Untappd person to post this beer, & it’s a brilliant beer, w/ a ginger - cinnamon - clove nutmeg blend that wins the holiday. Bourbon brings oak & vanilla, yet the spices & barrel qualities together cover the booze well. Superb.

Founders continues its crusade to make every style a 12% or higher. A barleywine is the perfect style into which adding spices and ginger works. Smooth and spicy, with a balanced blend of flavors. The perfect lead-in to the holiday season.
