Versus: Hew

IPA - Imperial / Double New England

Versus is a two part series where we explore the differences between two NEIPA yeasts, while keeping the process and all other ingredients the same. For Hew, we used Lallemand's Verdant yeast. For Hue, we used White Labs' London Fog yeast. Both have a luxurious dry-hop of Citra, El Dorado, and Chinook. In Hew we experience exotic over-ripe fruit with a sweet aroma and a dry finish. Compare the two beers and let us know what you think.

Verdant yeast but nowhere near verdant quality. Solid enough DIPA though

Mousse persistante.

Fruity and somewhat sweet DIPA with an off-dry and slightly piney bitter ending.

Very fruity with a somewhat milky sweetness and a bitterness with notes of pine resin.

It has that almost vanilla quality from verdant beers, but boozier and sweeter than its sibling

Her er brugt Lallemand`s Verdant.

Can’t find a fault here. This is a good ol’ tropical, hazy neipa, ticking all the right boxes.

So, exact same beer as the last one. But with a different yeast. Piney, dry. More boozy than the first one.

Hue vs Hew. Bit more passionfruity than the London Fog, but can't decide which is better, different sides of the coin...
