Fruit-Full Fort (2018)

Strong Ale - Other

A twist on our beloved Fort, Fruit-Full Fort is brewed with four types of berries … raspberries, blackberries, boysenberries and elderberries. This blend of dark berries creates a depth and complexity reminiscent of a jammy red wine. We punched up the malt bill with Munich malt in this new version of Fort to provide a firm backbone and help balance the tart flavor of the brew’s berry blend. Clocking in at 15%-18% ABV, Fruit-Full Fort is dark maroon red in color with aromas of velvety cherry and berry sweetness, and flavors of raspberry and blackberry.

Cold weather calls for boozy beer. A little smoother with age but still berry-tart.

Bottled 6/28/2018. Kroger buy last week $9.49 a 4 pack. Best deal ever. Definitely a wine taste too it, not necessarily my style but the abv% and the deal help a lot.

Thanks Zach K. Fun to finally try this. Really enjoyed this. Unique to have the fruit and the boozy behind that.

Definitely prefer fresh. 6/29/18. ton of blackberry fruit tang/tannins and light astringency. more melanoidin, jammy character changed to a sharper dry red wine character. Mostly. Warming up nicely. very strong cabernet wine like beer now. Boozy warmth.

Delicious! This was the first beer I “cellared” when I moved to silver spring in 2018. Seemed appropriate for the last dinner we have in our apartment!

That's right, we tried this 5 year aged brew that Christian had been saving. Tastes like a delicious barley wine.

Reeks of booziness, barrel and dark fruit. Tastes like cherry/fig/raisin with a tart bitterness from the berries along with earthy tea notes and a subtle hint of chocolate. Bordering on wine territory but the Munich malt gives it a dark bread/caramel vibe

Fuck if this is a beer. Wine port that was aged and probably at its prime. Lots of berries is the only difference I'm tasting in this.

Aged this one for 4 years. Still fruit forward with the flavor. Strong presence of barrel aged sugar. I’m going to sit on the other two for longer. This has potential to be awesome in the years to come.
