120 Minute IPA (2019)

IPA - Quadruple

Too extreme to be called beer? Brewed to a colossal 45°P, boiled for a full 2 hours while being continually hopped with high alpha American hops, dry-hopped every day in the fermenter for a month, and aged for a month on whole leaf hops, 120 Minute IPA is by far the strongest IPA ever brewed. And at 21% ABV and 120 IBU’s, you can see why we are calling this the Holy Grail for Hopheads.

It has been too long since I have had one of these. CBC still had some 2019 (as my friends say #LynchburgDumb). Some complain about the booze, but it is a big part of what makes this so good. Very smooth for how strong it is.

Bottled on 8\23/19. Deliciously thick and syrupy. Hop stickiness.

I was about to start this book, than The Umbrella Academy got me. DOPE SHOW! Man this thing is good. Top 10 beer for sure and just under Mc2 for top IPA. Gonna age the other one for another year or so. Beautiful beer.

Bottle was dated 9/13/2019. Saved this one for election night. Surprisingly balanced between hoppy/bitter and sweetness. Very strong aromatic and molasses nose. Flavor comes on as a sweet and hoppy and finishes with a burn of alcohol and molasses.

Aged over a year and mellowed and sweetened up. Never disappoints.

Basically a very hoppy, very well done barleywine. I’m not complaining.

This’ll wake you up on Christmas Eve! Hoo-boy, this is some kinda beer. I’ve had a few other 3IPA’s this year but 120 still stands apart.

Had to grab this, as I get it every year. Not quite as boozy but still packed a punch. Very strong malt presence, still hoppy. Had some body to it as well, a bit chewy. Good stuff! 18% ABV.

Poured a little too long, got a bit of sediment that changed the color dark. Still hoppy and boozy, but pleasantly sweet as well.

Bottled 8/23/19. Doesn't taste like 15% abv but it does have alot of sweetness reminds me of a barleywine but hopped up

Two years aged, bottled 9.13.19, drank 9.13.21. Absolute monster, but mellowed a bit with aging. Oddly balanced for an intentionally unbalanced beer. Always an experience, love this beer. Drink it. Yes it’s worth the price just buy it children.

Amazing nose. Drinking incredibly well right now, despite being only 2 years old (most 120 batches need to age longer). Best 120 in recent memory that was not >5 years old.
