Layered and complex, a nice sipping beer. Layers of wood, sweet dark fruits like raisins and plums, sherry, dark chocolate, and a bright back end that is sweet which I assume is the utopia barrel. Big beer, has the world wide stout raspberry-booze note.

Tastes definitely like Utopias. Thinner than I expected, but can still pick up flavors of figs, cherries, etc.

Damn this is good. So complex. Nice smooth liquor burn and so much going on. Tasty sipper, and I am glad I have a few more bottles to age. Imagine it will get better

This comes off initially smooth but it has a little bite on the back end . The flavor of the utopia is def there . With 1-2 yrs on this def potential for 5.0

Really good. Needs to sit in the glass for at least 30 minutes to wake up the flavors. A bit thin for a stout, it seems more like a strong ale. The 17% abv is well hidden.

Easy drinking high test. Not sure I can particularly pick out the utopias

Wow, this is more amazing than I expected! I've always wanted to try Sam Adams Utopias but this is a hell of a start! Super stoked to try this fantastic beer! Great barrel aging and even better as it warmed up! 🍻

Man, this is biiiig. Great flavors. Boozy, but the 17% is definitely hidden.

Strong, boozy. A little thinner than I expected but quite complex. Finishes dry. Not sure if it’s worth the price. Will see how this develops after some cellar time.

One of the best barrel-aged stouts I’ve had thus far. It’s high octane but the alcohol is hidden well by the robust flavor.

Way smoother than I thought and not as viscous as my expectations. Doesn't drink like a 17.3% if I drank it without knowing, I would say 12%. I am kind of missing a stronger taste on this one.

This is very good and almost scary how it hides the ABV. Utopias brings out a lot of dark fruits. Would bang again

1. First time using custom glasses that were given to me a long time ago. 2. This beer is fucking amazing, can’t wait to see what it is like after it ages. Looking to age it over 10 years…of course after the first 4 pack!

4.65. I don't get it with these variants. It resembles nothing of the base beer. Where is my body? Where's the thickness? If it had those. It would be a solid 5!

Pruney, Brady, a little oxidation, quite a bit of carryover utopias character. Thx Julian

> 4.50 < 4.75 Love it. Need more of it, but glad I shared it with a great friend. I had to drive home. Great beer!

Alcohol and roasty, stewed fruit, sherry and some cocoa and vanilla. Got the last bottle, oh my!

faint whiff of black strap molasses w/boozy notes. mouthfeel surprisingly not heavy. caramel and roasty notes. almost get dry notes like in sake. faint woodiness in the finish. abv hidden too well. cellaring hopefully blends all better

Dried fruits and roasty chocolate notes. Tasty. Doesn’t feel like 15%+ ABV beer. I dig it.

A delicious barrel aged stout at 17.3 %, notes of bourbon vanilla

Everything hits on the front and very little lasting. Impressive burst but then the palate is saturated and it does continue to deliver. My rating is pretty much just standing in that front punch

Thankfully I didn't need to. Fantastic as expected. Looking forward to having this one with a utopias side car.
