Been a bit since I opened one of these. Smooth & malty, enough hop to keep it from being too sweet. Very barley wine ish. A touch past its prime, have a few more to finish. And some heavy rain.

"Aged so good. The bitterness has been totally swallowed by the alcohol, as it has mellowed into a silky, rich sweetness without falling too far out of balance. Very nice" - Zach 2021

Drinking though the cellar, pre-move. This one did exactly what I was hoping for.

Bottled May 2014! Boozy sweetness for days! Wow! I’m convinced now more than ever that 120 IPAs are best if they’re at least 5 years old

Aged 8 years and opened to celebrate 8 days of my daughter’s life. Lost a lot of its carbonation but still super smooth and boozy. Mellow fruit like raisins and balanced by bright hops. I think I’ll open it a little earlier next time.

Well aged and packs a wallop. Thanks, Chris.

Giving it a 5 because I know it is solid. Should have been drank prob a couple years ago.

Yes, I still had 1 last bottle of this. I can’t believe how well this held up. Tastes like a nutty BA barley wine. Definitely some sort of oxidation going on, to be expected.

Whole lot better then all the freshies I’ve had

Out of the cellar comes this well-aged monster. The hop edges have worn off and tastes more like a barleywine/whiskey mix-in a good way.

Bottled 9/17/14 - I am getting a lot of dark fruit and malt. It’s very boozy (18% ABV) and masks almost all of the extreme level of hoppiness (fine in my book). There is a burn, like a fine liquor, that coats my tongue. This dark, aged beer is excellent.

Hops have faded to a light resin/floral character with almost no bitterness and a big caramel maltiness

I didn’t realize 120 day was a thing until I saw the Dogfish Head IG post.

Well, what a lovely excuse for a holiday. It's 120 Day and I have opened my next to last 2014 120. It is just what is needed. It is everything I love in a beer.

Yanked this out of the cellar.. wow.. Aged 120 is excellent! Tastes like 10% not almost 20%! Similar to an excellent barleywine in flavor.. very complex

Last night. Much improved with age, still somewhat hoppy, some signs of oxidation showing

I think the sweet spot for this beer is 4 years. This is still amazing though ❤️ This is ambrosia

Rich sweet & malty. Smooth but not too strong for 18% abv

Painful day, time to ramp up the #beerpurge2021 as I'm running out of space for beer. It's a good problem... this was awesome though, malty, light booze

Been saving this for the right occasion. I’d say moving into the new house we bought counts. Bottled 9/17/2014
