Oude Geuze Boon (2021-2022) Lambik

Aroma is better than the year before, no more rotten apple. Taste is a bit empty, bitter metallic aftertaste. No more flocculation floating around.

Saint Lamvinus (2023) Lambik

Aroma is vinous, fruity. Taste is fruity, light, slightly sweet. Light carbonation. Not sour at all. Needs more time on the bottle.

Oude Geuze Boon Black Label Edition N°9 Lambik

Again with flocculation. Not complex. On the sour side for boon. Citric.

Racine (2023) Lambik

Very wild. Aroma is funky, horse blanket. Taste is vinous, fruity, young lambic, acidic, spicy. More carbonation than most Cantillon.

Lou Pepe Kriek (2020) Lambik

Aroma is almond, kriek, wood. Taste is dry, kriek, spicy, medium acidity, slight tannin. Aftertaste is mellow, slight tannin. Perfectly balanced kriek as usual!

Le Plaisir (2023) Lambik

Aroma is funky, brett, typical Cantillon oude lambik. Taste is smooth, not too sour, spicy. Some residual maltiness, not totally dry. Not obvious to distinguish the grapes, more lambic-forward.

Gueuze (2023) Lambik

08 feb 2023. Typical cantillon geuze. Low carbonation, complex and oily.

Vin De Paille (2022) Lambik

Not carbonated at all, oily texture, pediococcus? Otherwise typical cantillon lambic profile. Nice barrel aroma. Hard to notice any wine notes in here. Just like a good grand cru bruoscella.

Vin Santo 2022 Lambik

Aroma is very complex and intense, taste as well. Medium-low acidity, good carbonation. Very spicy, ginger, grapeskin.

Sang Bleu (2022) Lambik

Aroma is a bit of brett, blueberry, raspberry, elderflower. Taste is tart but not too much. Very fruity. Aftertaste is less enjoyable.

Sophia Lambic (2022) Lambik

Aroma is French violette candy (anis de flavigny). Taste as well. Very interesting. Not too sour and good mouthfeel.

50°N-4°E (2022) Lambik

Very strong cognac aroma. Some ethyl acetate. Taste is oaky, mellow, slightly vinegar but not overpowering. Full bodied mouthfeel. Low carbonation.

Single Barrel 2 Year Lambic Lambik

Aroma is oak. Taste is not too sour, a bit lactic. Mouthfeel is very creamy.

Gueuze 100% Lambic Bio (2022) Lambik

Unfortunately poured wrongly by the bartender so very hazy and hence bitter. Fruity aroma. Has a bit of jonge lambik character.

Oude Geuze Boon à L'Ancienne - Vat 86 Mono Blend Lambik

Aroma is oak, spices. Taste is vanilla, not cheesy! Very dry and not too sour. A bit citric which is unusual for Boon. Broad flavour profile, medium bodied, not watery or thin. Quite some tannins in aftertaste.

Lambic D’Haute Densité Lambik

Weeew. Some ethyl acetate in aroma, very strong, dolle style.

Classic Gueuze (2022) Lambik

A bit flat as usual but not too acetic, mainly lactic.

Piacere Lambik

Aroma is red fruits, cherry, strawberry jam, lactic, oude lambik. Taste is sour but very fruity which balances out. Aftertaste is a bit vinous, tangy. Perfectly carbonated.

Lambic d'Aunis Lambik

Aroma is fruity, funky. Taste is more acidic. Something very fruity, even sweet, like candy. Tannins in aftertaste.

Blåbær Lambik (Blueberry Lambic) Lambik

Aroma is funky, brett, berry. Taste is very smooth and delicate. Not too acidic. Rounded. Delicate carbonation. Very nice aftertaste. Berry spice.

Racine (2021) Lambik

Wow! Best Cantillon grape lambic I've had. Complex aroma, musty, funky. Taste is not too acidic for a change. Nice carbonation, very delicate mouthfeel. Like a petnat.

Grand Cru Bruocsella Brut (2016) Lambik

Like regular GCB but with carbonation. Barrel notes in aroma. Taste is quite sour, little bitter in aftertaste. Tannins also clearly present.

Lou Pepe Kriek (2018) Lambik

Hm.. For a lou pepe this is too vinegary. I remember the colour to be darker. Aroma has too many acetic notes. Brett upon first pour. Taste is very strong in almond, but otherwise a sharp flavour profile. Not as smooth and balanced as I remember.

Curmudgeon Old Ale (2009) Lambik

Bottled 24/02/2009. Aroma is alcohol, coffee, chocolate, spices. Taste is very intense. Bitter chocolate, raisins. Aftertaste is little bitter, long smooth chocolate mocha. No negative signs of aging. Can't believe this has been bottled 12 years ago.

Gueuze 100% Lambic Bio (2021) Lambik

Better than previous years. Aroma is wheat, grainy, young lambic. Taste is quite mild and smooth, not too acidic. Medium carbonation for Cantillon standards. Aftertaste is quite clean.

CLAC! (Trois Cépages) (2019) Lambik

This is like a red natural wine, but smoother and less alcoholic. Aroma is vinous, brett, slight aceton. Taste is not too acidic, quite smooth, fruity, but dry, obviously. Mouthfeel is a bit thin (watery).

2-Year Unblended Oude Lambiek Lambik

A bit watery and not complex. Also quite some bitterness (yes a lot more than Girardin, maybe they added some Ulricher for the refermentation in the bottle?)

Drogone Lambic (2020) Lambik

Aroma is vinous, brett, spices. Very smooth in taste, not so acidic. Aftertaste is a bit short, mainly tannin.

Geuze Mariage Parfait (2016) Lambik

BBD 05/06/2039 - Batch# 03204. This bottle surprised me! Reminds me of how MP used to be. Aroma is lambic spice, slight brett, green apple. Taste is citrusy, very dry, no iron from the brewing water. Mouthfeel is great, not watery. How an OG should be!

Oude Schaarbeekse Kriek (2019) Lambik

Disappointing tbh. Aroma is slight kriek, brett. Taste is not intense and a bit empty, the schaarbeekse kriek doesn't come through well. Mouthfeel is not the best either, a bit watery. But still enough lambic character and refreshing.

Centennial IPA Lambik

One of my favourite IPA's a few years back. A bit more bitter and harsh than I remember, especially in the aftertaste, long lasting. Very easy to drink, would guess a lower ABV, but not watery. Not too sweet or malty either. Aroma is hoppy, floral.

Oude Geuze Boon à l'Ancienne - VAT 31 Mono Blend Lambik

Nose is cheesy, funky, not typical for Boon. No brett in aroma. Taste is lemony, not too acidic. Lots of carbonation, great mouthfeel.

Camerise Lambic (2019) Lambik

Again the aroma reminds me of gluhwein, cloves, but also quite fruity, grapes, vinous, and: alcohol. Taste is medium acidity, fruity, dry, tannin. Aftertaste is tannin, fruity. Slight acid burn. Interesting but not so balanced.

Gueuze 100% Lambic Bio (2020) Lambik

Very smooth and creamy, low acidity. Low carbonation as usual.

Grand Cru Bruocsella Brut (2015) Lambik

Brewed 16th december 2015, bottled 23rd May 2019. Nose is fruity, lactic. Taste is dry, medium acidity, woody, slight tannin. Aftertaste has more pronounced tannin, tongue sticks in my mouth. Slight bitterness. Low carbonation, similar to the geuze.
