Lambic D’Haute Densité

Lambic - Traditional

The result is surprising. The beer is amber, without carbonation, and comes in at 9.1% ABV and 8° Plato residual sugar. It's close to a Barley Wine or an oxidized wine like Madeira, Sherry or Vin Jaune. Even more surprising is that when we forgot a half-empty bottle, th beer was still good when we tasted it....after 8 days. This beer will be poured for the first time next weekend in Portland (Maine) for The Festival organised by Shelton Brothers and 12% imports.

Sweet and flat, but quite tart. Ends up worse than the lambics but an interesting experiment.

Tastes like a bourbon barrel aged, not too boozy, interesting aftertaste.

Euh, leuk experiment zeker ? Maar totaal niet m'n ding, veel te veel medicinale alcohol en te weinig Lambik

I guess even Cantillon has beers they're trying to get rid of. Syrupy, strong

Very rich flavour due to the oxidation. Very different to your usual lambic.

Sherry-like qualities. Boozy, sweet, sour end. Not my favourite...

Gerijpt als een port, zuurtje geeft hem zijn doordrinkbare karakter en toch denk ik dat deze geueze betere tijden heeft gehad.

sherry like liquid: drinks like a flat, semi salty & moderately tart barleywine

Hij bevalt iets beter dan de vorige keer, maar het blijft voor mij de minste van Cantillon. Zonder koolzuur, bijna niet zuur.

2013. Lite spritig och nästan barley wine på den. Spännande men inte mycket mer än så

Very interesting. If a port wine and a lambic collided. An experiment

Weeew. Some ethyl acetate in aroma, very strong, dolle style.

One of the craziest beers I’ve ever consumed. Was like motor oil mixed with lambic.

Plum and cherry notes, a touch of red wine, alcohol, moderate sourness.

Spent 6 years in the barrel which explains the copper brown colour and the 9%. Tastes kinda like earthy dessert wine.
