Wow. Didn’t know what to expect opening this but fantastic. As good as other bottles I’ve had fresh from cantillion. The funk/tart notes have certainly mellowed over time making this extremely drinkable. Happy to have had the chance to try this ole head

Beautifully ripe cherry and cherry skin right off the vine to start. Moves into vinegar, oak, wood fire, and musty barrel notes before rounding off into sour candy sugar, a bit of lemon, and some very muted vanilla and caramel.

Happy honeymoon, 2nd stop on our tour, and happy beer picnic that’s happening right now. This is very sour up front, but complex and ends with a grape skin wine-like finish. Reminds me of stealing concord grapes from Grandpa’s grape vine growing up.

28 dec bottling date. Patience leads to reward. The nose is other worldly, a really nice herbal, almost minty hint before the fruit and more barrel than normal. Fruit flavor is spot on. Delicious lambic creamy

Happy Zwanze Day! Cork blew on its own just a couple mins after I removed the cap. Perfectly balanced with cherry umami funk.

This is getting really good. Cherry starting to drop off a little, but it's still really bright. Musty, barnyard, funky notes really starting to get pretty strong. Good shit. Happy Zwanze Day!

Throwback Thursday at Sancho Pistolas in Fishtown. The best kriek 🍒 in the lambic game. Tart and jammy schaerbeekse cherries with the Cantillon house bacteria funk.

Happy anniversary and new house, JJ! Fantastic aged. Bold sourness, well developed and rounded funk, closes with a candied sour cherry and a last punch of sour.
