Classic Gueuze (2013)

Honeymoon beer purchased at the brewery ten years ago, stored upright. I had high hopes for this but it hasn't really developed all that well.

Kriek 100% Lambic Bio (2014)

Honeymoon beer purchased at the brewery ten years ago, stored upright. Beautiful cherry remains present, but subtle. This has aged really nicely for the past ten years, like my marriage.

Rosé de Gambrinus (2014)

Honeymoon beer purchased at the brewery ten years ago, stored upright. Raspberry is pretty gone, replaced by some complexity and acidity typical of Cantillon. This has aged pretty nicely for the past ten years, like my marriage.

Impressive. Getting more dark cherry than traditional blueberry flavor. Rich and complex to match the acidity.

Lambic Vin Jaune / La Vie est Belge (2016)

Definitely a different experience in drinking this several hours old after transporting it in a vial from a share I did not attend vs. the last time opening a bottle at the source on Rue Gheude, but still wonderful and amazing. Thnx 4 the assist Felix R.

Rosé de Gambrinus (2021)

Blind pour...guessed it in WI hin two mins but guessed a little extra age on it. Fairly malty and acidic vs fleshy fruit from previous vintages

Saint Lamvinus (2022)

This wasn't my favorite Lam. While the complexity and funk were extremely on point, I missed the fruity fresh grapes that I'm used to from fresh bottles. Still excellent.

Nath (2022)

This is probably the best Nath I've ever had. Nice and fresh. Acidity and funk are in balance. Grapefruit rind with a touch of cereal, rhubarb bitterness in the finish.

Fou’ Foune (2022)

Distinctly apricot, but the fruit is more subtle than anticipated with this bottle being less than 4 months old. Slight creaminess alongside the standard acidity.

Classic Gueuze (2016)

Unbelievable bottle. Tasted against the 5yr De Cam lambic, it blew it away from the nose to the finish. Beautiful earthy, funky wood character on top of citrus notes. Legit reminds me of the '98 bottle I tasted at Delilah's the other day.

4.75

Iris (1996)

This was the most impressive of all the bottles today, and wow was there a lot of unbelievable dusty vintage lambic. Amazingly intense nose, sweet funky cereal and aged hops, taste is intensely acidic, much more than geuze, straight lemony pop rocks.

Mellow cherry but it's surprisingly slightly thin. Modest funk. Some oak.

Lou Pepe Framboise (2001)

Amazing how much more enjoyable this was vs the '03 lpk. Almost thickish texture with lots of complex raspberry. Hard to believe this is 20+ years old.

Framboise Boon (1995)

Not great. Overly acetic and thinnish, so it's fallen apart a bit. Still has some decent cherry flavor.

Classic Gueuze (1998)

The legend of deep-aged Cantillon gueuze being supreme seems to be valid. Intense lemon with big-time horse funk and wood lacquer vibes, complexity has certainly intensified through extended cellaring, beautiful texture.

Lambic d'Aunis (2017)

Mild yet complex red grape, quite tannic, funky and just dry enough. What a delight to have this bottle all to myself at a reasonable price. ChurchKey is back and oh it is glorious.

Vigneronne (2021)

Surprised by the almost total lack of funk, despite being a fairly fresh bottle. But, plenty of brightness and fun, mild complex acidity.

Nath (2021)

Rhubarb adds just a bit of acidity. Overall below average for Cantillon standards, but still quite enjoyable.

Fou’ Foune (2021)

This was difficult to rate, it tasted quite different from previous vintages. This is more pure pink grapefruit-like tartness, intense with acidity and funkiness. Far less nuanced but still lots of fun to drink.
