Oh my sweet baby jesus. Funkyyyyyy, plenty of grape still, nuttiness. I'm obsessed with how good this is.

Needed a little time for reductive / sulfury notes to blow off, but pretty delicious once it opened up.

Gueuze 100% Lambic Bio (2012) A.
4.6. Very good, but doesn't taste 10 years old yet.

Thanks Mark! Had this after ~1 day in the bottle in August, and it has benefited from the refermentation since then. The apricot differences are less than I anticipated based on the unrefermented bottle.

This is the definition of #Basementliquid. Musty, dusty, overripe citrus. Still has pretty strong bitterness. Interesting.

Ho.ly. Shit. Very different from 2021 racine and, quite honestly, even better. Same watermelon jolly rancher vibes as Trousseau. So insanely vibrant. This is absolutely perfect right now.

Welcome to Utah, Mark! Super bright, citrus, apple, malic acidity, a little mustiness.

March 2021. I don't take the opportunity to drink a super fresh bottle often enough and this is really hitting the spot.

Massive green bell pepper, very creamy. What Ben said about this being the most mamouchey mamouche.

Monk's Café Cuvee de Monk's Gueuze A.
Really nice. Old Cantillon, a little cheese, and bitter west coast ipa hoppiness. Super cool.

The 93 kriek was definitely better. Some good notes: pretty sour still and some pleasant raspberry jam left, but a pretty buttery / diacetyl off note on the finish. A little corked.
Sweet tarts, a little cherry, slightly leathery funk. Plenty of carb on pouring. Zero oxidation!

Kriek 100% Lambic Bio (2020) A.
June 2020 bottling. 4.6. Almost lpk level in terms of the cherry + mild acidity.

Geuze Mariage Parfait (2010) A.
A steal at $9.98 for a 750. Thanks, MN, for letting this sit on shelves for years and hit close-out pricing. 😁 Slightly metallic, but otherwise a really nice bottle. 4.3-4.4. I'll go back for the other 4 bottles after Christmas. 🤪

Berries and cream, pretty low acidity. Not super funky yet.

Gueuze 100% Lambic Bio (2016) A.
Quite delicate. Floral, grapefruit, very minimal acidity.

Improved dramatically from when we last had it 1.5-2 years ago. Grapes give a ton of blueberry/raspberry notes + a hint of white pepper. No reductive notes anymore, just in a great spot for lambic + grape without lambic totally dominating yet.

Cuvée Saint-Gilloise (Champions) (2019) A.
Lci from earlier today. Obviously, tastes best at the summit of the Ka'au Crater Rim hike.

Forgot to check it in last night. 2017 cork, 2018 bottle date. Iris ftw.

Grand Cru Bruocsella Lambic Bio (2014) A.
2014 lambic, october 2016 cork. Everything I want from 5 year old grand cru. Drank from traditional bizen yaki because I'm a weirdo.

I'm surprised at how much I like this. The smoke works surprisingly well. It's subtle in the nose but pretty prominent in the taste.

Cuvée Saint-Gilloise (Champions) (2015) A.
March 2015. Really mellowed out and integrated. Nice old cantillon dust / must, and just a hint of cheese funk creeping in.

Lci from Saturday. Tons of stonefruit and citrus, not super funky yet. Pretty sour. Good but plenty of room to improve.

A bit less creamy than last bottle we had, but more vanilla, so still awesome. Hbd Daria!

50°N - 4°E (Batch 7 - 2020) A.
Hbd to me. One of the best 50n bottlings. Big barrel, big grape, and vanilla. Fantastic.

Bummer. Cork disintegrated on opening and it tastes a bit corked.

Magnum. Ordered 2015 and accidentally got a 2018. Haha oops. But delicious!

Holy fuck. Insane barrel character, already quite funky. Thanks Jeremy!

This is absolutely insane. Dessert wine and curry.

Grand Cru Bruocsella Brut (2019) A.
Lci. 2015 brew sticker. Not nearly as soft or delicate as standard Grand Cru.

Beck Hartwig > Zusslin. Much older tasting, dusty, high minerality, nutty.

April 2019 bottling. Cranberry and pine. Slight musk and a bit of tannin in the finish.

I apparently only ever had 2018 in Belgium, so it was time to break into the stash! Drinking well, just getting first dusty / peppery notes. Moderate acidity. Very slight older vig "manure", but no funky cheese notes yet.

:( Bad bottle, leaking through the cork. Metallic, a bit cardboard. Almost uncarbed. Light grape and vanilla still present. Bummer.

Gueuze 100% Lambic Bio (2017) A.
March 6, 2017. A lot of young characteristics still, but getting a lot of old characteristics. Lol I'm lazy with descriptions today.

Gueuze 100% Lambic Bio (2019) A.
Lacto forward, somewhat acetic. Pretty well balanced at 2 years.

Gueuze 100% Lambic Bio (2014) A.
750 mL from April 23, 2014. A disappointing bottle. Was primarily aged at a controlled 55 degree temp, and already starting to get into that oxidized dessert wine category. Bummer.

Exactly what I expect in fresh lpk. Jammy cherry, cinnamon, almond. Delicious.
Getting the first little bit of that old vig funk. Very nice.
Kinda a stubborn vintage. Fairly sour, a bit acetic, not super funky yet.
This is actually pretty awesome. Smells like Daria's borsch and has just enough Cantillon on the taste to clearly be a lambic.
I could probably believe that this is a bottle of blabaer. Massive blueberry & dark red fruits. Most integrated and easily favorite young aunis I've had.

Deep cherry, tons of cinnamon. Not as much almond as usual on this bottle.

Gueuze 100% Lambic Bio (2018) A.
Heavy lacto, grapefruit, mild acidity. Not much funk on this one yet. Drinking well.

Sweet tart cherry as it's cold, but funkified as it warms up. Gotta love that $29.99 price tag.
