This Kuro -Black- is a 16,5%ABV version. It's so old that I can't even remember where I bought it. BUT: it's awesome. I swear. Sweet molasses give way to coffeeish & bitter cocoa notes to finish w/ an endless, merciless bitter herbal finish. Love it.

Seems they are brewed at different strengths, this is 15. Impressive head, boozy ☕/🍫 nose and flavours begin bitter 🍫, coal tar and espresso, giving way to muscovado, stewed prunes and vanilla, ending very bitter, herbal, oaky and liquorice. #wheatfree

One a day historical check in, drank January 2011. Dark chocolate, coffee, raisins, vanilla and caramel aromas. Flavours of dark chocolate, smoke, licorice, oak and wood. Peaty. Huge alcohol burn. Long deep finish of sweet malts and licorice.

Rich body, slow warming sipper. Booziness only emerges at the end, sweet decadence in the nose and on palate. Vanilla, some dark chocolate. Remarkable for how unremarkable it tastes for an 18% beer, if that even makes sense...

The ABV is in the fine print on this one. Strong kick to it. Fantastic coffee notes with bitter aftertaste

Ребята, это просто пушка! Пенка как десерт, вкус кофейно-шоколадный, но при всем при этом аж целых 16.5%! Но идет нежно, тянется, это надо пить ответственно Даже сложно представить сколько в Москве есть локальных магазов, где может быть пиво из книги)

Wow! So much going on here. Sweet Molasses, vanilla and dark fruits balanced really well with bitter dark chocolate and coffee. Obviously very boozy but also well balanced. Some tobacco and a dry finish. Tastes Islay BA with the smokey tobacco finish. Top

Dark fruit, molasses, and a slight booziness on the nose and palate. Molasses, booze, dark fruit, and black licorice on the finish. Warming.

Flipping heck. After reading a range of reviews I got this last summer for Christmas and let it sit in the cellar. Firstly a super sweet brown sugar hit with vanilla undertones. Thick & boozy (obvs) with a leathery, tobacco, caramel dry and bitter finish.

(2014) Aromat wyrazisty, palony, kawowy, czekoladowy, waniliowy + trochę nalewki wiśniowej, lukrecji, rumu. Konsystencja oleista, gęsta, wyklejająca. W smaku słodkie, mocno palone, z wysoką, długą goryczką i delikatną kwasowością espresso na finiszu. 4.5

2016 bottle consumed in 2022. Thick, raisiny with a heavy aftertaste.

Used to have 17 %abv now 'just' 15. Very astringent bitter at first with soy sauce in both nose and mouth. Devellops with temp and gets more smooth with Liqourice and espresso notes.I like it a lot but probably wouldn't be able to drink the entire bottle

Pours dark black with a nice foamy head. Strong boozy woody whisky aroma. Strong notes of chocolate with some notes of cherry. Has a strong boozy head with a sweet warm licorice finish. Fucking great for a 15% (taproom states 14.9% not 17.5%)
