Bottled on 12/30/2016. Going on 7 years. Remarkably smooth, still has oak, lots of molasses, tree sap, caramel, raisins. Silky and all hop bitterness is smoothed out. Has an orange-pine nut note. Has held up well. Is it better fresh? Fresh is intenser.

Looked around for a bit seemed like the right time been a while. This has fallen off some but still a decent sipper.

Held up surprisingly well in the keg. Upfront molasses and then fig/toffee and a slightly bitter finish.

Classic aged old age. Right out of the cellar temp. Malted, dry oak with slight dark cocoa finish

Another one that has improved with age. #springcleaning

Oh, ye olde fisherman - that's a helluva ruby brown beauty from the depth of the cellar. Malt forward, a characterizing bitterness, at the same time smooth and balanced. Age matters. Herbal, oakey wood, some rock sugar, burnt caramell. Medium sweetness.

Fortfarande fräsch i smaken men upplever den ännu mer välbalanserad nu än när den var färsk kanske har fatlagringen avtagit lite grann men surt att säga när man inte har en ny att jämföra emot

Another beer that got me into craft beer that they don't make anymore. Sigh...

This aged to a dangerously drinkable beer

Marzipan, hazelnut, oak, vanilla and dried fruit... Absolutely fantastic!

I hate breaking into my cellar like this, but oh my god this stuff is so piquant and delicious. This world needs more Old Ales…

Mellow molasses, caramel, light vanilla, balancing piney hops, warming finish. Maybe a little thin after 5+ years but still very good.

I just opened a cellared old fart and it’s pretty fantastic. 7 year old beer never tasted so good

Smooth complex old ale with a touch of smoke. Very cool. Founders should bring this back.

Rich molasses malts. Accurately portrays itself in ABV even for such an ancient beer. Still holds a head indefinitely too. There must be something behind the "old" in old ales! If I was a sailor, this would be my beer.
