Powerful marzen bourbon barrel flavor BUT, not really traditional but I like the try

Nice amber color, light Marzen nose. Bubbly on the tongue, with a late, light alcohol burn. I don't notice the bourbon barrel taste, it must just mellow out the flavor. A nice Marzen. A decent seasonal, not something I would otherwise reach for.

Finally done painting the shed. Now to sit here and watch the squirrels. This beer isn’t bad at all. I actually quite enjoy the aroma. Having said that, this just kind of demonstrates that not all beers are better or require time in a bourbon barrel.

Really hides the 10%. Figured it would end up more along the lines of a eisbock but still clearly an Oktoberfest.

As advertised... A nice marzen with a rich and boozy bourbon finish. A great twist on a classic!

Bourbon imperial Oktoberfest? I didn't know that there was such a thing, but I dig it!

Super boozy for a 10% beer. Good sweet flavor. You don't want to have plans afterwards if you are looking to drink two.

More beerery then most fests I’ve had but I enjoyed it

Octoberfest Beer School. What the hell is this? Why would you do what you did? You ruined decent Octoberfest beer with a bourbon barrel you nimrods.

10 % abv, 9 months in Bourbon Barrels. Very interesting twist on the Octoberfest style. Tasty! #beerschool @thebeertrappe #beerschoolnevergraduate

Very smooth. Bourbon doesn’t overpower the marzen so you get the malt. Good caramel notes. Great beer.

I get the bourbon taste but it doesn’t overwhelm completely. love a beer that takes over 9 months to brew. The care and tears come through in amplified color. Märzen flavor takes over as the beer warms, one and done but we’ll worth the $7.25 in the kiddie

Not going to lie that barrel is absolute magic... this is every bit of a solid Marzen with race gas and a super charger slapped on top, deep notes of caramel, brown sugar and firewood, without a doubt one of the best Marzens I've had to date

The barrel aging makes a huge difference - I only wish I had more of this.

This is a first for me - a bourbon barrel aged Marzen style Oktoberfest. Malty and very smooth with a hint of caramel. Finishes with a slightly boozy kick of bourbon - not overpowering. Very nice!

Wow, Founders has a winner! Nice head and copper color. You really pick up the bourbon both in the aroma and taste. While not a “street legal” Märzen the bouton barrels are a great touch.

Intense bourbon aroma. Super smooth, mile deep malt. Highest octane Märzen to date (The Kaiser was the previous high water mark, haven’t seen that in a long time)! Anyway, a interesting domestic version. Too bad the “real” Löwenbräu isn’t available.

Not liking it. Too dark, bitter smokyish but then Im neither an IPA nor bourbon drinker. More of a rum and pilsner file. Glad I tried it. Better beer than seltzer.

Has a nice hearty bread and oaky aroma. Has a nice woody and oak flavor with hearty bread flavor and a splash of salt. Doesn't taste like 10% drinks smooth.

Oktoberfest beer. The ultimate Marzen, soaked in bourbon flavor and has that classic Oktoberfest taste, it should be paired with a soft pretzel. Thumbs up.

10% BBA Imperial German-style Marzen Starting Oktoberfest off with the Ultimate. The barrel overrides the Marzen but that’s OK because it’s really good.
