Nice viscosity, good roasty chocolaty/coffee flavor w/ hints of pepper and booziness.

HG likes a kick in the teeth. It reminds HG that there are legitimate challengers. This, however, kicks like the bottom of the order of the Memorial Elementary kindergarten kickball team. HG will have to find a kick somewhere else.

When you have spicy in the name you should have spicy featured more prominently. Not the case here. Still, this is a damn smooth sipper that’s deceptive about its booziness. Superior to the Mexicali Stout from Birdsong (a staple of mine).

Not really spicy, more chocolate, lacking in barrel, disappointing

Great taste, a bit if sweetness and hardly not spice at all. Definitely a desert beer.

Strong plum/fig and chocolate aromas. Not overly spicy but strong peppery notes upfront. Transitions to velvety chocolate and finishes a little boozy.

Nice beer. The spicy isn’t overwhelming, and nice chocolate flavor.

Didn’t get a lot of spice at first, but then after a dynamite shrimp (not as spicy as it sounds), the chili pepper flavor came out a little better, but still mellowed by the chocolate.

There’s enough spice here to give your mouth a little tingle, and I like that! Otherwise lots of boozy chocolate and coffee goodness that you’d expect from KBS.

A bit thin and not spicy enough for me, but the dark chocolate flavor is great

Not bad for something that feels like a spicy Xocoveza clone.

It's good, but the spice didn't pay out. I was hoping if I let it warm that it would come out, but alas, it was chocolate and a light tickle at the finish, nothing more.

Terrific base. The spice just hides too much of it for me

Following a Prarie Weekend, this seems thin and totally void of sweetness. After a while, the intended pepper - chocolate combo comes to life. More pepper than chocolate, but not totally out of balance. Right there with today's KBS. OK, but not special.
