Fruit-Full Fort (2018)

Strong Ale - Other

A twist on our beloved Fort, Fruit-Full Fort is brewed with four types of berries … raspberries, blackberries, boysenberries and elderberries. This blend of dark berries creates a depth and complexity reminiscent of a jammy red wine. We punched up the malt bill with Munich malt in this new version of Fort to provide a firm backbone and help balance the tart flavor of the brew’s berry blend. Clocking in at 15%-18% ABV, Fruit-Full Fort is dark maroon red in color with aromas of velvety cherry and berry sweetness, and flavors of raspberry and blackberry.

Boozy but oh so smooth. Rich malt, berry jam, boysenberry, cherry, some red wine, finishes prune/raisin. Perfectly sweet.

5 years old. A touch cloudy but that is probably the sediment not settling. Very boozy and lots of berries. Very jammy. Big beer. Definitely a sipper. Meant to be shared, but I’m not.

Getting all 4 types of berries here: very full bodied with a dark richness I haven’t found in a fruited strong ale. Pleasant tartness, reminiscent of a port or a sherry. Beautiful beer!

My local store has so many older dogfish head limited Shellie’s. I know this is a weirder beer, but I like it especially with some age. Wonderful nose of fruit bouquet. Taste is light barrel & mellowed fruit. Really digging it

Found this beauty at Steins. 6 years old and drinking great. So much booze and berries. Thick syrupy. Tastes almost mapley. Some of the tartness is falling away. I will say that I always loved the original Fort better. This one is always a great sipper.

Deep red brown. Jammy then boozy with a tart lingering finish. The Belgian bready, licorice yeast is a bit covered, mostly by the ABV and copious berries added. Very nice. Thanks Paul!

Someone didn't check the ABV before popping this bad boy open. I told him I wanted something fruity and this is what he came back with. Whoa.

Decided to pull this out of my aging collection seeing how it’s 5 years. I was kind of worried that I might have buggered it up but it’s actually still VERY good. It is mostly boozy, with that nice subtle burn, with a supporting cast of fruits.

Having it back, 6 years aged now. Opened it for no particular reason today. Soooo good. Less boozy than it was before, a bit chocolatey, still with tons of fruity flavor (berry/cherries). I wish 2018 me had bought more of these 😂
