World Wide Stout (2019)

Stout - Imperial / Double

Brewed with a ridiculous amount of barley, World Wide Stout is dark, rich, roasty and complex. This ageable ale clocks in at 15-20% ABV and has a depth more in line with a fine port than with a can of cheap, mass-marketed beer.

Great stuff! Impressively balanced cocoa powder, caramel, moderately burnt brown sugar, leather, & molasses, w/ lesser plum, pomegranate, & dark red wine. Noticeable, pleasant hop bitterness @finish. Delightfully enticing. Amazing just below room temp.

Something of a legend, and deservedly so. Amazingly smooth for the ABV, but this one has been in the cellar for 22 months. Hot chocolate.

Today was a day that called for a boozy stout that kicks you in the teeth. Dark fruits are prominent with that nice World Wide booziness. I needed this tonight.

Rich flavor of well roasted barley. Better than expected from one of the bigger brewers

Meh, after that Modern Times stout, this is a bit of a letdown.

Evolving nicely. Big malty chocolate, tons of dark fruit, anise, licorice, a hint of soy sauce. Way too smooth for the ABV.

Had to choose this over the coconut stout on tap. This was amazing. Would definitely recommend if you’re feeling something a little stronger than a normal stout.

Super rich dark roast, sweet booziness almost like a coffee barleywine, that 1.6% really sneaks up on you... wait... my sources are telling me that’s 16%, well then yeah man this brings the 🔥

Great flavor with high ABV. Only improvement would be bourbon barrel aging.

I don’t know what I expected, but this isn’t it (in all the right ways). Raisin, bourbon, & prunes on the nose. Full bodied, ashy, oaky, & boozy as hell. Tangy middle with purple fruit notes. Woody, boozy, almost bitter finish. The ABV comes through hard.

Thanks to the boys at Connolly’s for suggesting Heaven and Hell. Unfortunately the Untappd police don’t allow us to log it in as is.

Call it nostalgia... I was there when they tapped a keg in Pennsylvania in 1999 when this debuted. 20 years before this bottle was capped.... Liquid perfection

Still vividly remember drinking this back in 2006 and it was just so harsh, maybe beer was more bitter back then, maybe my palate was too young, both? Whatever this is delish. Slight coffee and molasses, malt on the nose, caramel lingering finish. Delish
