Lou Pepe Gueuze (2008)

Took a while to open up. Funky nose leads to a delicate blend of sour citrus notes then a surprise layer of what seems like rhubarb. Fun bottle

Rosé de Gambrinus (2008)

No date. Amazing bottle, great carb. Perfect 5.0 nose, heavy raspberry after all the years. Great flavor as it warms, big sour acidity but fruity raspberry reals it back in.

Gueuze 100% Lambic Bio (2014)

Dec 1 date. Another odd bottle from late 2014. Some diaper funk in the nose. High acidity, bitterness, somewhat flat carb and mouthfeel distract but it’s still super interesting with some bright lemon/lime zest coming in heavy.

Aug 18 date. Great pop, nose of barrel, vanilla, citrus, lemons, apricot are distant but this is special. Creamy lambic w/a touch of minty spice, just phenomenal. Apricot notes emerge late palate. Blind I’d guess fortified wine barrel aged. Fun w Lambic!

Gueuze 100% Lambic Bio (2014)

Sept 24 2014 bottle date. This bottle has some heavy notes of “unkind time”, sad. After allowing the glass to open and breath some classic Cantillon funk notes appear but unfortunately still a shell of a healthy bottle.

Kriek 100% Lambic (2010)

Oxidation’s having fun with this guy. All the vintage Kriek notes are here and it pours beautifully. However, there’s a raisiny, sherry, port wine notes that differentiates it from its peers. JW Lees’esq influence, in the best possible way. Unique bottle!

Rosé de Gambrinus (2018)

June 5 2018 bottle. Rough vintage so far, it’s 3 years in and just starting to loosen up a bit. Still very sharp, with katsupy vinegar notes, and heavy seed. Age will round this out some or take it super acidic, either way I don’t see it improving much.

Cuvée Saint-Gilloise (Champions) (2010)

Perfect bottle! Heavy mold under cap, gushing carb, lively bottle! Orange marmalade, lemon lime margarita, bright, mineral, slightly floral. Incredible nose despite subdued funk. Oak, funk, bright lemon on palate. Mouth and carb are flawless throughout.

Jan 13 2016 375ml. It’s acidic, but that good mouthwatering acidity you can’t stop taking small sips of. Dense raspberry, bitter seedy notes, lemon, cherry, and sour blackberry round her out. This is a great bottle, cheers!!!

Sept 14 2010 date. Perfect pour, perfect color, perfect head, etc etc etc. One of the those few “perfect” bottles. Huge fruit bomb after 11 years, just amazing. On Nov 10 2010 I was told by someone to buy all I could afford of this vintage, he was right.

Aug 28 bottle. From the cork pop, color, clarity, head, it’s perfect. Nose is has it all, kiwi, tangerine, peach, classic Cantillon dusty funk, white wine barrel, a bit of spice, maybe black pepper on the end, crazy deep. Tastes amazing, great bottle!

Sept 10 2014 750ml. Pours great. Funky wet oak, dusty stone, and faint lemony leathery nose. Drinks a touch lazy but creamy. Heavy funk, some orange creamsicle. A bit bland and a minor plastic note distracts.

Rosé de Gambrinus (2018)

June 05 2018 bottle. This bottle is in a rough spot. High acidity and a distinct vinegar twang. All other aspects are in line, just a bit too sharp in the nose and on the pallet. Will revisit in a few years.

Kriek 100% Lambic (2012)

March 28 2012 375ml, great bottle! Musty funk heavy nose w slight cherry almond background. Amazing flavor with the usual cherry, almond, slight vanilla, quite sour, but this light cinniman touch that caps it off, fantastic. Gentle carb, thick mouth, yes!

Gueuze 100% Lambic Bio (2013)

Rosé de Gambrinus (2013)

Nov 20 2013 375ml. What a bottle, old school Hommage’esq in the best way. Super seedy raspberry, start to finish. Nose is tart ripe fruit, minor acidity. Flavor sharpens up a touch but is never intrusive, creamy gentle carb, this bottle has decade legs.
