Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2019) Johnson
Hey, Equilibrium! HERE'S an excellent barrel aged coffee imperial stout that I could've had a 4 pack of for the same price as your 16.9oz. Rho bomber! Call up Founders and "take notes"!

Mmm, just taste that kernza (not really)! Uniquely flavored pils with good mouthfeel and a gentle, light, crisp, grainy/malty, slightly earthyish taste. Very quaffable and slammable.

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2019) Johnson
See previous reviews. Mellows well for a cellared 3 year old. Let this summers' beer fridge cleaning time begin!
See initial review. After only 10 months loses all bourbony flavor.

Pepperheads rejoice! Exceptionally well balanced 2-3x fruit brew w/tons of mango (MANGO!!) flavor, good but not too capsaiciny/peppery heat, great palate heft & lingering mango (MANGO!!) aftertaste & such a smooth fooler of a 10%er. Better LOVE mango for

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2018) Johnson
See previous reviews. The last of the '18ers & mellowed well with most flavors still evident. Aged much better than recent Goose Island Bourbon County brand stouts.

Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) (2019) Johnson
See previous reviews. All mapley sweetness/bourbony flavors gone after three years. Still good, just no evidence of any maple/bourbon barrel aging.

Exceptionally well balanced & tasty Belgian tripel with great aroma, lighter but satisfying palate heft and an incredibly subdued, complex, fruity/banana/clove flavor and an agave sweetness that's subtle and complementary. Very smooth fooler of a 10 %er!

Not sure if this is the correct 2022 at 20% & 1000ibus (YOW! Thanx for listing 'em!) but.......Mmmmm, fresh 120 minute ipa. See previous reviews of various vintages (and Pray for Mojo)......
(sigh) Again, ZERO abv & ZERO ibus, eh? I don't think so. One big, fat, uninformative ZERO of a review. At least it's saving me a bunch of cash from even having to taste all the brews that have ZERO info to go by. A 2x ipa for All Day? Wrong style as well
about 3 years ago
See initial review of 4 Giants, take away the aroma & the dank/bitter/piney/resinousness and add a light haze & a more softer, less bitter/hoppy taste due to the lower alcohol + the inclusion of wheat & oats. Dangerously smooth and quaffable for 8.4%!!
See previous reviews of original KBS & add a whopping great hazelnuttiness flavor & sweetness but take away almost all bourbony/boozy/barrel aging intensity. Definitely smoother & sweeter than the base. What happened Founders, time for some fresh barrels?
What's the ibus? Well balanced pils with good mouthfeel and a hoppier flavor than others. Clean, crisp and very quaffable but not so much straw-like, malty taste.

Where the Wild Hops Are Johnson
Bottle sez 6.5% (& thanx for listing the ibus!). Just wish the description was as informative as the DH website as this blend of ipa & barrel aged wild ale is an acquired taste 4 sure! Good mouthfeel, not too hoppy/bitter but a dank/tropical/citrusy/funky

Frangelic Mountain Brown (2019) Johnson
See initial review. Holds up well for a 22 month old.

See initial review. 3 years is too long to push 120 minutes, I don't care what Dogfish Head says on the label about a decade.

KBS Cinnamon Vanilla Cocoa Johnson
See previous reviews of various vintages&variants. This iteration has a bigly triple hit of cinnamon, cocoa&vanilla as advertised plus a wallop of javaliciousness.Smooth&every bit as POWerful as it's 12%, but any bourbon is overwhelmed by the other flavors.
Tasty, well balanced ipa with good mouthfeel, nice floral/malty flavor and more hoppiness than you'd expect from only 45ibus. Very quaffable indeed.

See previous reviews of various vintages. Holds up well for a two year old hiding in the beer fridge as well as a forgotten check in.

Bottle Shop Series Highball Drifter Johnson
Wonderfully aromatic & well balanced BA brown with great palate heft; mouthcoating, lingering aftertaste & big orange/fruity/malty flavors with hints of cherry, vanilla & whisky in the finish. Smooth fooler of an 11%er that sneaks up on you.

See previous reviews of Dank Wood & 2018 'Wood. Ages and mellows well for a three year old. Gets more woody as it ages. Glad there's one more left to go....

See initial review. So mellow all bourbon & vanilla hints are gone. My last Doom (I think, still haven't made it to the back of the first beer fridge)
Another very expen$ive purcha$e more puckerpuss sour than tart with lots of fruity, citrusy flavor, good mouthcoating heft and finish & a very dry, vinous aftertaste. (sigh) into the marinade......
Nice enough ipa more like a wild/sour with the brettanomyces. Good hoppy bite fighting to get past the yeastiness. Not my pint of ale, your mileage may vary. Note to self: start reading labels more carefully and avoid anything brett!!!! Into the marinade!

And now for something completely different on Cinco de Mayo.....a flavorful beer! See previous reviews.
Uniquely flavored barley-style brew more dark&much less caramelly sweet than some w/great balance&palate heft for being lighter on the tongue than others too.Incredibly, dangerously smooth fooler of an 11.2 that drinks like much less w/zero alcoholic heat
about 4 years ago
Interestingly flavored ipa more akin to a pale due to its light sweetness from the lactose and softness from the oats & wheat. Definitely doesn't drink like a 6.4%er and not nearly as bitter/hoppy as its 49ibus. Subtle tropical tastes & clean finish.
See initial review of Panther Cub. (sigh) still unavailable in LFK.... (& no, I haven't forgotten about you either, O'Malleys)
Finally got around to this one after almost a year. See initial review of Mas Agave and add a good dose of grapefruit. Probably mellowed a lot in 9 months but still margarita-y pungent. Da da da da dant dant DANT! TEQWEEZA!!

Well balanced & tasty NE ipa with light haze, nice aroma, big juicy/citrusy/tropical kinda flavors, low hoppiness/bitterness, great mouthfeel due to the oats & a lingering, fruity finish. Very quaffable & disappears fast and easy!

Wonderfully hoppy, well balanced&flavorful brew and definitely as advertised, an American pilsner with good palate heft & a crisp, light, bubbly, refreshing&slightly dryish taste&finish. Goes down fast, easy & I sure wish I'd found this during summertime!
