Lambic D’Haute Densité

Lambic - Traditional

The result is surprising. The beer is amber, without carbonation, and comes in at 9.1% ABV and 8° Plato residual sugar. It's close to a Barley Wine or an oxidized wine like Madeira, Sherry or Vin Jaune. Even more surprising is that when we forgot a half-empty bottle, th beer was still good when we tasted it....after 8 days. This beer will be poured for the first time next weekend in Portland (Maine) for The Festival organised by Shelton Brothers and 12% imports.

Just plain Weird - Way heavy on the alcohol, and so intense.. The Imp stout of lambics.. Needs at least 5 more years to mellow down.

Definite port vibes! Drinks really big. Oaky, dark pitted fruit. Yummy!

sherry like liquid: drinks like a flat, semi salty & moderately tart barleywine

Like a barely wine, but slightly tart and much lighter. Not for everyone but I really enjoy this!

"it's high density! There's no such thing as high gravity! It is an American corruption of science" Oops.

Bonus stop on the way back home. Exactly what it says, a boozer more intense lambic.

Beer EAGLES

A lambic barleywine?? Wow!! Red wine, toffee, light citrus and peach and dark plummy fruit, dry finish. Wish I could get bottles of this. I understand why it is polarizing because it is not like the other lambics, but it is a very good beer anyway.

Suszone owoce, brązowy cukier, wanilia, bardzo barley wine style. Bez gazu, mocno kwaśne, spoko ukryte alko. Polecanko.

Sow, dit is een smaakbom! Port, en madeiratonen, karamel, vanille. Jammer dat er geen koolzuur op zit, dat mis ik wel

Huge. Rich boozy sweetness laced over the acidic kick of Cantillon lambic. Glorious

What to do when you have 2 hours to kill in Brussels. Well, you either attempt to get on an earlier train (failed) or you go to Cantaillon and hope to Christ almighty above it's open. I lucked out! This beer is the 2019, very tart. Refeshing

Interesting story - brewed in 2013 and bottled in 2019. Intense. Quite sour and somewhat tart up front. Bone dry with an earthiness to it. Some dried fruit notes and a touch of wood. Some herbal notes as well. Boozy but subtle with it.

Weird. Starts like a barleywine, finishes like a lambic.

Osku Mertalo

Spent 6 years in the barrel which explains the copper brown colour and the 9%. Tastes kinda like earthy dessert wine.

Woah! Read the description, this is cool! It totally is a mash up of an oxidized, still barlewine, blended with a lambic! Kinda loving this totally new flavor!!!

Gerijpt als een port, zuurtje geeft hem zijn doordrinkbare karakter en toch denk ik dat deze geueze betere tijden heeft gehad.
