HORAL's Oude Geuze Mega Blend (2017) Davis
Something special for 5k 🍻 I got into craft beer in 2017, Chris from Bitter Virtue was the first person to offer me advice and guide me into new styles. On my final visit before they closed he gifted me this bottle. Only a few days later he passed away.

My favourite Cantillon beer, as fresh as it gets. Superlative

Lambic D’Haute Densité Davis
Bonus stop on the way back home. Exactly what it says, a boozer more intense lambic.

Rosé De Gambrinus (2022) Davis
I love drinking this beer when it's fresh/young. All the raspberries are there in abundance. It's a blessing that one of the easiest to get hold of Cantillon bottles is also one of the best. Not the way things usually go with this hobby.

I'll be forever grateful to Edward D. for rescuing this 375ml basket from a skip for me. This is drinking so well at this young age, sharp green apples, a little farmyard funk, clean finish. Lovely.

Had this a couple of years ago at the London bar. Still slaps. Boozy.

This is a tick that has taken far too long to happen. Dark chocolate and pour over coffee notes aplenty. A little red berry tang too. I'm aware significant advances have been made in the stout game, but I can see why this has the status that it does.

AF in the AM. Amazing little brunch spot too. This one would be difficult to pick out as AF, juicy little banger.

Super soft, low acidity. A luxurious but remarkably easy Lambic to drink. Almost wine.

Gueuze 100% Lambic Bio (2019) Davis
Seeing as #StoutSunday was AF this week I might as well participate in #SourSunday too. Perfect level of carbonation in this bottle. This is drinking really well, green apple skins, warming oak & a healthy dose of funk. Very dry. Classy old Cantillon.

Sour Sunday: Hair of the dog edition. A delicate yet complex Gueuze, oak barrel, green apples and some slight funk. Super easy drinking. A delight.

Paired with Sloppy Joe grilled cheese, the acidity cut through the rich food nicely. Beautifully refined Kriek.

Only left it here 7 months. Thanks to Vic for the corkscrew lend! Sharp, vinegary, musty grapes, beautifully smooth.

Mini horizontal. 2020 great. 2021 good. Aroma of farts in the 2021.

Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) (2019) Davis
This randomly turned up on Amazon for ÂŁ6 delivered, I know Founders are a bit out of favour but this being the last of the pre buyout CBS I had to grab it. There's no denying this is an absolute banger! Sticky, boozy indulgence.

Managed to get the Beer Geek Crunch chocolate bar! And this of course. Perfect barrel, no adjuncts drowned out, smooth as you like.

Absolutely gorgeous, delicate and smooth with elderflower and green apple notes present throughout. Fabulous.

Sunday morning bacon sarnies on the barbecue. Company. It's almost like normality. Cracked this to celebrate. Fantastic of course.

Sunday sharer to myself is quick becoming a tradition. Brings back bitter sweet memories of being allowed to travel. Smooth as silk this. Classic Cantillon.

Dark & Sour December (4/31) This is really bridging the gap to wine. Delightful grape heavy lambic, nicely tart up front with a huge depth of flavour afterwards.

One short of this year's brewsader badge and I haven't seen a Founder's for sale anywhere for months. LCI for fraud purposes.

It is the weekend. I quite like this despite the heavy lemsip vibes. Refreshing and sharp with the expected honey backbone. An interesting concoction and nice to try something so far removed from what I regularly drink.

Cuvée Saint-Gilloise (Champions) (2019) Davis
Session ender. Exceptional traditional Lambic without any fruit etc. So smooth. A delightful find.

The stars aligned for check-in number 2500. Midsommar DC on 4k has arrived. Kids and Wife away for the night. Domino's driver has just knocked the door. Oh and the finest Lambic I've ever tasted. Apricots. Who knew!? I can see why it's 1pp per year now!

Grand Cru Bruocsella Lambic Bio Davis
Recent roadtrip souvenir. This is a very delicate, smooth and quite dry lambic. One that nearly bridges the gap to wine.
