Malty start with a hard transition to hoppiness. Very drastic and stark transition.

Fact: All barleywines should be barrel aged. Fact: American barleywines should not exist. Fact: I am an old man yelling at clouds.

Very fresh. Very bitter. So glad founders found a way to make this again. I’ll age the other bottle and see how this develops.

STRONGLY dislike the extremely bitter hop finish. I would never guess this is a barleywine.

Overly hopped, not quite right for a barley wine. Good malt back but not enough. Still enjoying it but just want more cramelly maltiness.

Yep, same rival as last time. Still stereotypical barley wine aromas & flavors as the previous night. And, believe it or not it is still a great change up, yet a great reminder of the roots/ bare-bones of this style. Also, did it for the badge. 👍🤘

Complex... dark... roasted... a hint of booze as it warms... I need more barley wines

It’s fruity and sweet on the nose. The palate is sweet at first then more bitter on the finish. There’s more going on than I can identify. It’s a good beer to sip slowly and enjoy

Doesn't taste much like a barleywine but is pretty balanced and does not taste boozy for 11.2.

More of a strong ale, not a barley wine. Tastes of burnt malts, some bitter hops. Once the carbo lessons, it’s good.

It's not bad, but as a personal preference I don't like the bitter/hoppy taste on the backend of what is supposed to be a barleywine. I wonder if a couple of years of aging would mellow it? Let's find out!
