Dark barley wine that is not too complex. Dried fruit with quite some hoppy ornament. Vanilla and pine needle. Really hoppy the Am. B W way. Easy drinking despite the ABV.

Very tongue coating malty flavor! Very heavy beer. Last of the cicerone class beers..thank you Shawn!!

Maybe the most bitter barley wine I’ve so far, almost like a west coast DIPA. I don’t mind, this is good stuff.

Another nice visit with mom today ❤️

Tastes more like coffee stout/porter. Roasted/bitter, not very sweet

I don’t taste the barrel taste at all. It’s surprisingly bitter. Not bad, but now what I expected.

Had to reach back to get #1 in the series. Whew, you ain’t kidding w/ that name. Too many flavors to name, too strong to try.

Roasty with notes of coffee and chocolate and a little bit bitter

A bitter barleywine. Mellow and semi sweet malty taste. Finish of old hops yet with a sharp bitterness. The bitterness get more accentuated as it warms up, interesting. Oh so boozy 😅

Sorely needed after this long day in “how long does it take to put a label on ’it’” “drug-land”. Boozy and bitter, like my mood

Delicious barleywine. Loving the bitter hop notes mixing with the roasted barley notes. Got it for $4.99 for a 4 pack.

March, 2021 bottle. A bit sweet, but still plenty of hop bitterness. Very nice.

Had this fresh too (2021) and it’s aging well. Still toasty and dark for a bw, big, smooth, malty and hoppy

Michigan Barleywine continues. This one is a bit milder and sweeter, but it’s all Barleywine.

Roasty, malty flavors with a hoppy, bitter finish. Straightforward; not as complex as some barleywines.

Darker then a normal bw. Rich chalky malt. Sharp hop quality fades quickly.

I think I prefer an English style barleywine with a bit less hop bite, but this is still a great beer! Maybe after a bit more aging the hops will temper down with time.
