Decided to taste test 2017 and 2018 together. Flavors definitely mellowed out a bit.

From the sat nite #bottleshare #miniVert 2017 - 2020 #cigars held up well with age. Lost the barrel heat but still had the silky chocolate

First time having this vintage since it’s release in 2017. Coffee is gone, but a bourbon chocolate bomb remains.

Dusted this little guy off. It's not bad.. the chocolate is a touch bitter. Coffee is still solid tho, and decent barrel.

Coffee and a bit of chocolate on the nose. Dark brown colour with a tan head that fades to a thin ring. Coffee is throughout, but the mouthfeel is thinner than I like. The alcohol is present, but not hot. This is fine, but not outstanding.

Four years aged. Bourbon has completely mellowed + integrated with base. Getting more oak and zero burn. Other flavors have significantly muted - some choc little coffee. Good but much better fresh. Won’t be aging any other KBS bottles holding onto

Get the impression there is some oxidation. Also time for this one to pass on.

4 years on this and the carb is low. It has gotten really sweet and is like boozy chocolate milk.

On right. Bottled 2/23/2017, 11.8%, aged at home 5 years. Aroma: chocolate, bourbon. Flavor: bourbon, chocolate, finishes oaky. Balanced, pleasantly sweet, finishing a little drier than the middle but still with coffee, chocolate, and a whiskey bite.

Just over 4 and a half years old now becoming a bit more roasty slightly less boozy now. Not very carbonated but not flat. Has an aftertaste I'm not super loving but still good.

Has anyone else found KBS lacking much bourbon notes? The coffee notes have always stood out and still do.
