If this were a stout, I think this would be great. But this is a weirdly wonky, winey, woody waste of beer. Rare swing and a miss from Founders.

The spice blend is quite pleasant. A little on the sweet side.

Tasty, but I couldn’t drink a lot of these. Tastes like a Xmas beer.

Shining example of breweries running out of ideas for a strong beer. This isn’t bad though, some molasses should’ve been added for a more sweet element to offset all the spice. Pretty boozy.

I like ginger. If you LOVE ginger you might rate this higher.

Big ginger, more malty and oaky as it warms a bit, very enjoyable.

Wow that is wild, but good. Tastes like gingerbread bourbon.

Really not overly sweet. Bit raisiny and few notes from barrel aging

Sweet and boozy, but enjoying this. One bottle is about it though.

Kind of like a Dutch apple pie in a bottle. Lots of spice in a lighter barleywine. It's an interesting change of pace.

On this 3rd of a four-pack, cinnamon seems to be emerging, but ginger & clove still are stronger & more enduring. Base continues to express vanilla, oak, & toffee. Excellence in booze.

Tastes just like a gingerbread man but far too sweet for me.

Barleywine time now, ginger, cinnamon & clove flavors, luckily not too much clove. Great 12.8% ABV!

Solid - crisp yet good distinctive ginger finish. Boozy & strong yet surprisingly good. Endorsed by Felix

Boozey, and alot going on, can't say it really works together though.

The ginger and cinnamon are in the aroma. The flavor includes that plus and under lying malty brown bread. The boozy level is high enough to provide a perceived alcohol sweetness.

Born 09.19.23. Aging nicely. Straight out gingerbread cookies heavy w/ cinnamon. A BA Barleywine w/ ginger, cinnamon & clove. The bourbon is malty/vanilla smooth. The clove adds a bite on each sip. This is done well & unusal for such a large production.
