Sweet ale aroma. Carbonated overly sweet malty caramel ale.

It's... Weird. I don't love it, I don't hate it. Not sure whether or not I like it. Will have to try it again.

Not a lover of barley wine but this is extraordinarily good. Founders hit the mark

Barrel-aged barleywine ale with ginger, cinnamon and clove. Perfect for easing the pain of reorganizing and packing Christmas decorations!

Liking this beer less.... But, high % and a great way to become numb to life. I'm done

Really has a nice gingerbread cookie smell. The ginger hits hard up front. Then you get a bready body that quickly yields to burnt sugar feel that brings an astringent bitter feel to the finish.

Way too much spice, which covers everything else up. There might be a good barrel-aged barley wine under there but I can’t tell. The barrel is moot. You could just make a strong base beer and spice the shit out of it and it would taste the same.

Got this beer for Christmas. It has a strong cinnamon and ginger taste. It's sweet and strong. Not a terrible winter beer. Would only want one at a time but would try it again.

Pretty tasty! Getting a TON of ginger which I would (personally) like dialed down a few notches but great at 12.8!

Wow. I didn't notice before, but there is a slight mead-like character to this delightful brew. Fun! Too bad it was my last one.

A nice sticky barleywine for playoff football. Saw another review that said dial the ginger down to a 6, and I agree. That, and some sweetness would put this at another level.
