120 Minute IPA (2017)

IPA - Imperial / Double

Clocking in at 15-20% ABV, 120 Minute IPA is continuously hopped with a copious amount of high-alpha American hops throughout the boil and whirlpool, and then dry-hopped with another pallet of hops. Unfiltered and abundently hoppy, it's the Holy Grail for hopheads! We brew 120 Minute IPA a few times a year, but it goes fast. If you find some grab a few bottles -- some to enjoy and some to age.

Took one and aged it. Better now then it was then. Now it’s a nice blend of boozy and hoppy.

Deep orange, almost amber hue, honeyed dried apricot with touch of fruitcake nose, rich mouthcoating palate of more hop bitterness well buffered by massive fruits, non-stop hop fruited finish, though not as balanced and mind-blowing as last bottle.

Bottled on 03/16/17. Abv 16.5%. From our stash. I hoarded a few different years because I love this triple that is boozy like a barleywine!

STRONG! BIG bold flavors coming off this and after a 4 year age it still holds it's notes of toffee and malt. Notes of bourbon begin to show with it's sweetness

Malty IPA nose, malty, sweet, strong, rich, reminds me of a barleywine-IPA hybrid

Drinking this seems to have become a yearly tradition. Essentially a barleywine, with loads of malt and classic hops.

Holy crap!!!!! I never thought you can drink an IPA after this much time it has been brewed but this beer is on another planet of its own. 4 years old! My goodness I see why this is a must for any hardcore IPA fan.

"Fresher" and more complex than last bottle, more honeyed nose, hop bitterness really speaks this time, still buried under massive honeyed fruit, 1 minute+ long finish, amazing depth and balance between malt, hoppy fruit and bitterness, outstanding!

Aged till today. Drinking with and in celebration of Katherine’s birthday. Aroma of cherry and sweet vermouth. Flavors follow suit with a solid malt backbone.

4 years later! Definitely more of a barleywine character now, but still a bit boozy and unbalanced. Certainly much better than fresh -- oxidation has added some wonderful flavors to this. Persimmon notes?
