Finally at Grote Dorst. Lovely sunny day. Great lambic list. This Boon Vat is no exception.

Flasket 2013, men holder seg meget bra. Mesterlig øl fra mr. Boon. Litt søtere enn typisk boon øl med masse funk, eple og fatpreg.

Tasty gueuze with pleasant oxidative notes. Weirdly enough it comes off as slightly sweet which bugs me slightly.

Brewed in 2011 and bottled in 2013. The funk has mellowed out quite a lot at this stage. It turned into a jammy, brown sugar, marmalade character. Rich, earthy and a pleasure to drink.

Skórzane mocno, serkowe, dzikie. W ustach kwaskowe, dzikie, piwnica , serek, cierpkie, wytrawny finisz mocno, trochę gronowe. Bardzo pozytywnie

Don't understand why all the hate and also why they don't brew such beers as a usual base...very well balanced geuze, with great barrel and right flavors, just lacks a bit of complexity and persistence. VAT project is, for now, a pretty good one.

Nog eens een gouwe ouwe bovengehaald. Het is maar één keer maandag per week. Zachter geworden met de tijd. Maar nog altijd fantastisch.

One of the woodiest, booziest geuzes I can recall trying. Almost the esters of a Belgian tripel, spice and sweet honey. Light acidity and horse blanket, cool to try an unblended geuze though it’s rather sweet, could benefit from more acidity.

Redelijk droog, fruitig (appel), niet heel zuur. Zit zelfs klein bittertje in, apart. Past goed bij de appel maar minder bij de moink ballen...

Feelait comme un jeune lambic, pas beaucoup d'acidité, me faisait pensé à du lambic à même le pichet qu'on se fait sortir d'un barril. Oxydé un peu probablement.

This has always had an oaky sweetness that’s still there but the metallic flavor from earlier bottles has aged out. Still a mild saltiness. The least good of the Vat series but definitely mature now and a very good geuze. Lots of chunky floaties. 8.5/10

Bottled in 2013 and aged very nicely. Not super complex, but it is delicious. Lots of straight up old lambic character - musty old stone fruit, plenty of horseblanket, tangy oak, low acidity. Fantastic, one of the best things I've had from Boon.
