Yule Malt 2022 Cox

A well balanced, rich & creamy milk stout. Loads of bourbon, thick. Delicious beer. Found it for a strangely cheap price, guess it was a missing, so will get some extra bottles tomorrow 🥳

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2018) Cox

Found old founders. 2 years since I had this 2018 version. Fantastic beer. Coffee, bourbon, chocolate, all still very present. More alcoholic then I remember. Founders is one of the breweries that got me into starting a cellar. So good

KBS Cinnamon Vanilla Cocoa (2021) Cox

Always loved this KBS variant. Cinnamon in beer is a personal guilty pleasure. Combination with the vanilla, and the barrel makes this a beer to cherish. Plenty of them in stock, but bought a new one, just to not have to touch the cellar stock 🙄

Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) (2019) Cox

Celebrating the comeback of CBS with this oldie from the cellar. Always loved this beer, so when they decided to stop brewing it, I put a couple aside. Can't wait to get my hands on the new ones. Still fantastic. Sweet, creamy, maple, chocolate.

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2022) Cox

Celebrating the comeback of Founders' CBS. Hopefully soon I can try the new one next to one of the older ones I've been stocking in the cellar for all these years. KBS is fantastic, but CBS was always the winner.

5 years old. Gets better by time. Very present cherry, not too sour, easy drinking.

Lambic Haute Densité (2019) Cox

Thick lambic. Almost syrup structure, sweet, with a sour aftertaste. At least you would think you drink a sour barleywine. Really interesting ánd tasty

Cuvée Saint-Gilloise (Champions) (2023) Cox

I heard that took it off the sale board as it needs more rest to carb more. No idea, don't know anything about it, I just drink. For sale by the glass at the bar. And for me it's just fine. Cheers.

Geuze Mariage Parfait (2018) Cox

Taste is better than smell. Dry, sour, earthy. Not a perfect marriage for me, but even a not perfect marriage can work...

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2022) Cox

Every once in a while its good to stay in your comfort zone with this classic. No further explenation is needed, talked plenty of times about this one in previous (vintage) check-ins.

Backwoods Bastard (2022) Cox

Side by side: 2018 - 2022 2022 definitely more "fresh" and young. Sweet, Lively, some bitterness,...

Backwoods Bastard (2018) Cox

Side by side: 2018 - 2022 This 2018 version is still delicious. More thick, more sweet, bourbon still present. You taste the ageing process, it's a bit dusty. Still some left, but might be reaching it's turning point. Aged gracefully

Backwoods Bastard (2022) Cox

It's time to rate this one 4.5 For years I appreciate this beer, always rated it a bit lower then founders CBS-KBS-Curmudgeon, but this threesome can get company of a fourth member. Still have old ones of this in the cellar, should do a tasting.

KBS Hazelnut (2022) Cox

The glass from Struise Brouwers matches really nice with the skull on the beer label. The beer: chocolate, some bitterness, roasty hazelnuts. So much hazelnuts. It's nuts. No more drinking 'till Bxlbeerfest.

KBS Cinnamon Vanilla Cocoa Cox

The cinnamon-vanilla combo is straight up my alley. Both flavours really stand out. Bitter, roasty aftertaste. Looks like this is one of the less appreciated KBS versions, but for me it's a real treat. Some extra for the founders department in my basement

Bottle Shop Series Highball Drifter Cox

Weird. Just tastes like a bad cocktail. And I do like an old fashioned, but if I want one I will make one, it doesn't have to be in a Founders bottle. I adore Founders, and people seem to love this highball drifter, but this is just not the one for me.
