Lou Pepe Kriek (2018) El-Bennich
Nice surprise tonight that Lionel brought back from Brussels last week, merci ! Lovely, lots of cherries and still very lively, complex, tart, balanced with moderate acidity. I usually prefer raspberry but any Lou Pepe is outstanding !

Cuvée Saint-Gilloise (Champions) (2020) El-Bennich
Still very hoppy, funky, fresh, with wood present yet not overpowering, slightly citric but also pine aromas.

Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) (2019) El-Bennich
Revisiting another classic that I used to not appreciate due to its exaggerated us of maple and booziness. Either the recipe or my palate changed, as I found this bottle way more balanced than what I recall.

Expensive highlight of the night ! Probably nicer on warm summer day, today it felt fresher. Yet, as subtle, floral and reminiscent of white wine as I remember from the 2018 I had in Brussels!

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2014) El-Bennich
Aged pretty well and still had quite some body and poured a thin but nice head. Less coffeeish than a fresh KSB, the edges of the booziness are rounder and the beer mellower. Sweet!

Zwanze 2018 - Manneken Pise El-Bennich
I was just dropping by and getting some growlers when I saw this - most expensive 150ml I bought in a while, but what a nice beer. I expected a more vinous beer, but it's very delicate in the finish, I almost get a hint of that Amarone.

Kriek Mariage Parfait (2014) El-Bennich
The cherry is more subtle now, less funky and dryly than the gueuze. Funny, I preferred more the gueuze actually.

This one aged very well, still kind of juvenil and effervescent, dry, funky and lovely !
