50 Degrees N - 4 Degrees E (2007)

Lambic - Gueuze

In March 2005, the brewery Cantillon had bought second hand barrels in the region of Cognac. For 15 years, the wood had been impregnated with cognac. Then for 2 years, our lambic has extracted all the flavors and aromas to make a unique gueuze. The name comes from the geographic location of the brewery.

This is amazing. Complex. Funky. Decently acidic but not overwhelming. Green apple, a great musty funk that just keeps going. So good.

Doften typisk Cantillon men något sötare. Smaken syrlig, ekig, nötig och söt. Lätta cognacstoner och Chardonnay-smak. Helheten aningen för ekig.

#TBT. Had to dig deep on my computer to find this photo from an old blackberry phone. B1 bottle shared by Barry at the compound sess in August of '13.Pours clearish orange with light lace and head that wasn’t lasting. Heavy notes of barn funk, rich wood,

Holding up quite well, but still showing some age. Less lively than the later batches at this point.

Pretty tart and acidic on finish. Little of that red wine port. Little funk

A gentle sour cognac nose. Dusty and bold mouthfeel. More sour to the taste, less barrel, but still holding up well and great.

Had this many times but before Untappd apparently. Stunning Cognac presence. Murky and dusty before the Cognac notes. Melts so perfectly with lambic with some savory suggestions too. Ends like a sour Cognac. Delicious. Dry, rich, even fruity. 4.80

Aroma: cognac, lemon spritz, black pepper Taste: mineral, cognac, heavy, creamy Aftertaste: salt, pithy grapefruit B1 after 30min: maple candy on nose. Old cellar. Taste is a little less balanced if I'm being picky. Lemon sour candy, bitter oak. Could
