Insane levels of funk and layered richness. Earthy, complex, lemon rinds, old raspberries.

A 2004 Iris!? Are you kidding me?! Obviously couldn’t pass up the opportunity to try this. A lot of funk to this. Floral. Botanical. Can’t believe how well this held up…but should I really be surprised?

ā€œThe best oneā€ - Isabel. I thought it was great too, more tart and sour than I expected. Floral for sure. Great event. S/o to Gourmet Haus

Was going to give a 4.75, but I do feel for 18 years, the tartness is there, super floral, tons of flavor and tartness, still some effervescence. Truly amazing how well these age.

$9 3oz pour of a 2004 bottle. Haven’t had Iris in a while. Funky, slight herbal bitterness. Cherry. Apricot.

Screamin. Elderflower botanicals are very dominant over the old gueuze, and much more singular than the 04 and 05 classic gueuzes. Disguises it as tasting much younger than its age.

Fantastic. You still get the hops. I think Iris holds up better due to the extra hops. Starting to turn a little. The 2007 I had a couple years ago was better but this is very nice

Big ol funky musty orange tang. Somewhat pronounced acidity. Pouring in some dregs balances out the orange and acidity nicely, and adds some earthiness and further complexity to the funk. 2004 vintage, 2006 cork.

2004 label, 2006 cork. Still super floral and a nice bitterness in the nose. Creamy, funky, vegetal, floral, musty, bitter taste. Aged super well and could easily age another 15 years at this rate.

Slight carb as to be expected. Insane amount of orange citrus funk with some deep hay and green apple notes. This is aging beautifully

Hbd to me! What a pleasure to get to try this. Notes of tart green apple, white wine, lemongrass, white raspberry, apricot, pear, funky white oak, and damp soil. There’s little carbonation left and the oak just sneaks in at the end. Today is a good day
