The flavors mostly mellowed into each other. No sharp bourbon left. 2-3 years is still the sweet spot, not 5.

Bottled on 03/13/18. Karamelkleurige schuimkraag, zwart bier. Welriekende chocolade, bourbon aroma. Lodderig, prettige zoete start, gebrande mouten, Pastachoca Beregoed Rood, vanillevla, koffie, hout, bourbon, jammer dat ik er maar 1 heb.

It’s amazing the kind of things you’re willing to crack at 2:30AM. This is a treasure, though. This many years on, it’s so smooth, with a newfound element of honey that I don’t recall from before. Drink ‘em if you’ve got ‘em, before they oxidize!

12.31% BBA Coffee Stout Bottled 03.12.18 so 5.5 years old and starting to fade. The coffee predominates with barrel and stout tied for 2nd place. ABV is still MIA, but this ale still rocks. Because it mellowed you now get to enjoy greater complexity

Still holding up after five years. I can remember when we picked up our allotment at the brewery. That was back when you couldn’t buy it at every grocery store.

Alles was man an einem Barrel Aged Imperial Stout möchte: intensive Kaffee und Schokoladenaromen ohne aschig oder röstig zu wirken. Weich, dick, wachsartig, Bourbon-Fass, Eiche. Alles da, sehr komplex und 12,3% top verdeckt. Weltklasse Ding.
