Mead with tomato and chili pepper. Like a mead Michelada. I'm definitely a fan! Spicy AF

I didn't realize this was 11.7% until I tasted it. Definitely wasn't in the mood for this.

This is where Zwanze Day was but of course I couldn't make it then. Nice little Belgian bar but it's surprisingly fancy.

Oude Schaarbeekse Kriek (2019) Hinkle
I figured this would be more special than the normal Boon Kriek but it's just as boring and thin. Not tart or sour in any way, it's more like Belgian cherry juice. Didn't finish it.

Pretty good! BB 2040. Film: Kurt Vonnegut - unstuck in time

I've had this twice on tap, unsure vintage, but this is my first from the bottle. Noticably better and really just as good as it gets. Every sip was a delight. Worth every Pfennig.

Gets better with every sip. The red grapes are delightful. It's sad being the only lambic fan I know around here... although I didn't notice any tears drinking this all by myself 😎 🤓 💜

It felt only natural to buy a Danish lambic at a Swedish bar in Hamburg.

Incredibly thin, 1% dragonfruit -flavored punch. No, I'm not a GoT fan. Glassware: the closest thing to dragons I have.

👌🏽 The first Cantillon I've had where the cork was wet on top after taking the cap off. Bubbles...

Single Barrel 1-year Lambic (2022) Hinkle
Exciting to try an unblended barrel. Good, really good, but I can see why they usually blend it.

I came here for the Zwanze Day but it looks like they just ran out last night... probably my last chance, dang! This is delicious. Apricot mmmpricot

Tyrnilambic Baie d'Argousier Hinkle
Definitely better than on tap, as expected. Less skunk on the nose. This is really smooth, low acidity, soft sea buckthorn. Hosteling in style. May 2021.

Tyrnilambic Baie D'Argousier (2022) Hinkle
Yet another sea buckthorn beer. Very funky aroma.. Discovered this bar as they were the Finnish location of Zwanze Day.

Endlessly drinkable. Get to the airport at the recommended time, got 90 minutes to kill. Typical.

First beer in 🇸🇪 was a 🇩🇰 beer. C'est la vie. Pic: this ramen was crazy good. Based on this and the taco restaurant yesterday, it seems that Mikkeller owns some great restaurants too. Cool.

Even better in the bottle. Malts and grapes will always win my heart. So smooth, just enough tartness.

Rosé De Gambrinus (2022) Hinkle
Just lovely. Really wanted to try this fresh... couldn't stop myself. Lambic withdrawal, probably. Bottled March. It's probably best to keep it around for a year or two.

Not the best Cantillon. Aroma and taste do not compliment each other.

Moriau Oude Geuze Vieille Hinkle
Not sure what vintage but this expires in 2040... would love to try it then.

Using a unique yeast strain, this is a super cool n/a beer. Reminiscent of a Berliner Weiss.

The Limbo series is stellar so far. This one was brewed by a Flemish contact brewer who seems to know exactly what to do. 4 stars is relative, of course.

Drink'in The Sun (0.3%) Hinkle
Really great n/a beer. Easy to forget it's not alcoholic, unlike most of its kind. Pic: the last beer this shitty glass ever held

Ordered from Mikkeller cuz there was a free beer and glass. A Christmas beer is slightly unexpected but I won't complain. Good WC IPA.

Mmm, that's good. Jammy. My first canned Lambic. Surprising that it's canned, given its overwhelming wine vibes. Quite oaky.

Kriek 100% Lambic Bio (2021) Hinkle
Fabulous. Kriek is often hit or miss for me but this one was a definite hit. Duh. Bottled in November.

Very nice, but sweet and slightly artificial-tasting. Definitely better to give it another year or two.

Dangerously drinkable. Would've said 10% but it's over 15. Very sweet but in a lovely way, aided by that delectable champagne yeast.

Scour Scandinavia Spontan Seabuckthorn Hinkle
Really unpleasant. I don't think I'll get sea buckthorn again.

Oude Geuze Boon (2018-2019) Hinkle
Likely the best Geuze you'll get for under 3 Euro

Definitely the best N/A beer I've had. Almost none of that classic N/A nastiness to it. In fact, it doesn't taste anything like those because this is more of a Riesling beer hybrid, yet fairly Belgian. Definitely going to seek out more of their n/a beer.

Very nice rhubarb lambic. Rhubarb is quite subdued but adds a lovely touch. Not overly sour. First time finding Cantillon on tap!

Can't place it, but there's something slightly off-putting about this. Like many Mikkeller beers, it doesn't seem like they spent much time thinking about this.

Been looking for this for years. So lovely. Tons of razz but not incredibly tart, and not sweet. Perfectly balanced, with faint whispers of funk. Crazy foam. March 2021

One of the softer beers I've had. Creamy oatmeal with a dab of oat milk. Thick but in a perfect expression. Boozy but in a way that's not at first apparent; sneaks up on you like a barley field bandit. Cloudy.

Gueuze 100% Lambic Bio (2020) Hinkle
The Gueuze is the only Cantillon I've had, but this is my third vintage. Big surprise, the condition is miles beyond the one I had in Japan. Probably the loveliest, most pleasant Gueuze I've ever had. Not even sure how something like this exists.

Geuze Mariage Parfait (2017) Hinkle
That's so solid. Oaky, a bit funky but clean. Tastes like distilled tradition. Belgian tea time.

I don’t buy Founders anymore but this was free. Good stuff.

Geuze Mariage Parfait (2013) Hinkle
This is delicious. The gamble on a non-cellared lambic paid off! Geuze is such a unique flavor. Delectable.

Slightly expired... 3.5 years? Actually not bad. Well worth a dollar. Peppercorns are all flavor, no heat, though I’m not sure how it tasted in 2016.

This Rodenbach collab is solid. Apparently “fleur de sel” is sea salt. With elderflower. Yep. Purt near tasty.
