Insane levels of funk and layered richness. Earthy, complex, lemon rinds, old raspberries.

Very sour and quite dry, almost savory. The barrel character is strong, but somehow this is still very smooth.

Cantillon from 2004. Wow! Has held up incredibly well. Perfectly tart. An honor to drink this.

Well this was a fun surprise. Dry and vinous, not still but not carbed much. Still delightful

Funky, tart, and a semi-dry finish. Very complex. Stone fruit, a bit of wood, and a lingering funkiness. Fantastic lambic. Crazy the flavor is still so strong after 20 years.

Happy Anniversary City Beer! Funky and glorious with tons of brett bitterness and pithy citrus.

Fantastic. You still get the hops. I think Iris holds up better due to the extra hops. Starting to turn a little. The 2007 I had a couple years ago was better but this is very nice

Screamin. Elderflower botanicals are very dominant over the old gueuze, and much more singular than the 04 and 05 classic gueuzes. Disguises it as tasting much younger than its age.

$9 3oz pour of a 2004 bottle. Haven’t had Iris in a while. Funky, slight herbal bitterness. Cherry. Apricot.

“The best one” - Isabel. I thought it was great too, more tart and sour than I expected. Floral for sure. Great event. S/o to Gourmet Haus

A 2004 Iris!? Are you kidding me?! Obviously couldn’t pass up the opportunity to try this. A lot of funk to this. Floral. Botanical. Can’t believe how well this held up…but should I really be surprised?

Classic aged Cantillon character, vinous and cheesy. Extra acidic. A delight.

Has lost its carb but still has a lot of funky, fun character. The younger one had a lot more carbonation but came off as pretty boring by comparison. (I heard rumor of one bottle that still had carb but didn’t witness it firsthand.)

Slight carb as to be expected. Insane amount of orange citrus funk with some deep hay and green apple notes. This is aging beautifully

2004 label, 2006 cork. Still super floral and a nice bitterness in the nose. Creamy, funky, vegetal, floral, musty, bitter taste. Aged super well and could easily age another 15 years at this rate.

Was going to give a 4.75, but I do feel for 18 years, the tartness is there, super floral, tons of flavor and tartness, still some effervescence. Truly amazing how well these age.
