The end of my Vin Jaune trip. This one speaks loud that this beer needs time. Spiciness is present and this time it's not a kick in the mouth. Everything is so elegant and complex, with oxidation perfectly intertwined with the rest. 4.65

Excellent nose of nuts, nutmeg and raisins, citrus and flowers. Sweet, surprisingly viscous body. Light acidity that pairs oh so beautifully well with the comte’s umami and own nutty flavour. Whilst the recommendation was to take a bite, chew and 1/

Cliché b1 is often better. So beautifully balanced, in my book up there with Zenne b1 or b2

LCI at BXL beer fest last year. Much drier than the other batches, delicious obviously, though 2019 is the big winner for me.

Low carbonation, vinious, light woody notes, very noticable curry, nutty, balanced acidity. This is awesome right no imo.

Was expecting more lambic forward qualities but was hit with even more vin jaune. Couldn't imagine LVEB could get better but this did that. Also had a pour of the end of the bottle and that was a flavour bomb - no acidity just pure walnut & curry!

I’ve claimed this was the best beer I ever drank in 2018. Maybe doesn’t have same intensity with a small amount now. very good, but I think all unfruited lambic benefits from a larger pour and digestion time to really appreciate if

Quintessence! Also, La Vie Est Belge 2014 is a revelation. I loved the 2016 blend but this one may supersede it. Hits that light caramel malt that I detect in bottles like OGV12. Mild nuttiness, spritz, but creamy and luscious. Excellent.

Rating this one even if late. The things this beer does and will continue to do for years on years - perfect. And paired with comte.

Late check-in. Easily my favorite beer from Quintessence. Restrained aroma, but the flavor is unbelievable. Wonderful mix of raisins, curry, nuts, and sherry. Blows away the 2020 vintage.

18 avril. Quintessence.
