Zwanze 2020 - Brettrave

Lambic - Fruit

This year, we wanted to return to our roots, which inspired the special blend for Zwanze 2020: Lambic with beetroot! The beer's color is intensly red, fluorescent even, and the nose is fruity yet quite earthy. The palate is complex, a nice balance between the acidity of the Lambic and the roundness of the beetroot.

A lot of beetroot this year, the 2019 version was more balanced.

Came here for the Fou Foune but they still had this left so had to double dip. Still quite a beetroot overdose

Whoop there’s still time to taste this peculiar beetroot sour beer! Tastes healthy. Fresh uncooked beetroot and moist earth. I kinda like this.

Can't make my mind up. Pleasant but I'd expected less beetroot and a more sour beer

As good as a beet based lambic can be. Unfortunately still made from beets

Wanted to like this beer (love beet beers) and really loved the sweet beety front end of it, but the bitterness at the back end clashed hard with the rest of the beer—not worth drinking

Despite having a horrible old beet and wilted wheat grass nose, this is a pretty interesting brew. It has a surprisingly deep body that has a flavor with a lot of good vegetal, root-y/earthy, notes to it and a nice,, faintly funky, beet-y sweet finish.

It’s Cantillon but the beetroot is a bit too prominent (and I’m not the biggest fan of beets). Interesting concept though.
