Zwanze 2020 - Brettrave

Lambic - Fruit

This year, we wanted to return to our roots, which inspired the special blend for Zwanze 2020: Lambic with beetroot! The beer's color is intensly red, fluorescent even, and the nose is fruity yet quite earthy. The palate is complex, a nice balance between the acidity of the Lambic and the roundness of the beetroot.

Smell is unmistakably beets. Taste is also pretty beetlike. Love the experimentation, but from someone that loves beets, pretty so so in a lambic. 3.9

Beet juice. Barely identifiable as lambic.

Big deep sniff of a raw beetroot. Bit of a dirty beetroot. An acidic dirty beetroot.

As good as a beet based lambic can be. Unfortunately still made from beets

Despite the fact that beets are involved this was enjoyable.

Very earthy beetroot flavor, pretty much spot on. If you like beetroot, then it's perfect!

The one that got away… at least for one year. Trying it as a vintage! 🙏🤜🤛🙌 nose is pure beet, front is traditional gueuze, mid pallet is bitter & earthy, back is sweet beet, and finish is a mixture of all those things ❤️🍻🇧🇪
