Lambic Vin Jaune / La Vie Est Belge (2020) Q
4.70. So much vin jaune characteristic and so many details. The sherry and grape skins characteristic from vin jaune which almost perfectly integrated into the lambic. Very lingering. It's a lambic deserve enjoying sip by sip.

Hoppy, citrus zest with a hint of hop degradation flavors for me. We need to schedule a blind tasting of CSG and 2-y lambic to see whether the hoppiness still makes significant difference after 6 yrs.

4.35. Light, subtle and watery TBH. But in higher temp. it's really good and canonical for subtle light lambics. Appearance is like rose wine. Clear and clean.

4.55. Complex. Pop corn at low temp. The sweetest lambic I've ever had in Cantillon. More opened at higher temp. Grapes, apples, other fruits that I can't recognize. Mellow aftertaste and hints of tannins.

3.70. A little bit metallic but OK. High carbonation but unsteady head. Medium-high bitterness in the finish. Weak cherry. Even sweeter than Oud Beersel 2018. Still kinda typical Boon's fresh aroma on nose.

4.15. Peachy and stonefruit-like hoppy aroma. With citrusy lambic characteristics. Just a little too short and kinda watery.

3.35. Super boozy and very alcoholic, even in 15+% world. Hoppy and oxidation hints. A little bit reminiscent of lambic oxidation. Almost a torture for me to drink it but I have to give it 3+, because it has a fairly good nose and complies with the style.

4.30. No wonder the strong mellow hints and low acidity. Smells young with a touch of hops. 30% more 3-year lambic is blended for 2020 version. I love this blend.

4.40. Bottled 04/06/2021. Almost the same as the draft except that it has more greenish flavor and slightly higher acidity. Fruitiness remain the same and both has a light finish.

4.55. Compared with Tilquin Gueze draft. More acidity on nose. Same carbonation. Starting from a more vinegar-like hints, going through a bright, clean and fruity sourness, ended up with a mellow aftertaste like GCB.

4.40. Bottled 04/12/2021. Fresh cherry and fruit bomb. The aroma is not as aggressive as RdG but still very attractive. Of course lighter and sweeter than vintage. But it's still also lighter than freshly bottled RdG.
